I don't see why not. Hell you could even squeeze a full wort boil for a five gallon batch out of them, and they don't cost too much more than a high quality-name brand stainless steel brew kettle of similar volume. Cool."I encompass, and I eclipse..."

That does look pretty good for indoor brewing.  If it can boil oil it shouldn't have a problem boiling wort.  Looks like it even has a spigot.

The element in that fryer is, near as I can tell from looking at other sites, 1650W. With 1650W, you're looking at around 82 minutes to go from 65 to boiling...

If your using it as a BK, then your already starting with your wort at 140+, so theres the majority of your time cut down. Using as your HLT might be a bit longer, but just get up a smidgeon earlier and plug it in.They call me Crut

I just bought this I was walking in Canadian tire in Canada here and it was on sale. I used this to get my sparge water 170. It has a thermastat and a spigiot with works awsome.
I used my 3 gallon kettle to get my strike water ready. I let the wort site for an hour in my mash tun by that time my sparge water was ready in the turkey deep fryer.
I used the deep fryer for my hlt and sparged into my 6 gallon bucket and then put about 2 gallons into my kettel
then transfered the hot wort back into the fryer and cranked it up to boil.
the wort that wouldnt fit in the fryer I simply boiled in my small kettle.
So far it's been nice it does take awhile to get boiling but im patient

Stove works well.Ideating - Kolsch, Hefeweizen, Raspberry Wheat
Primary - Chocolate Stout 1.5
Secondary - None.

The electric friers I've seen tend to be shorter but larger in diameter than the pots for gas friers, which might make it more likely to boil over since there's less head space for the foam.  It might also not cool down as quickly as turning a gas valve down, making the boil over even worse.Corporal in the BN Army

Kick Ass! That looks great for a HLT and for a mash tun. you could get some copper pipe and use that for a drain for a mash tun. Just a thought... keep brewing and let us know how it works. As for a kettle, I'd get a turkey fryer and just use that to boil. Aluminum pot is ok to use. Stainless is better, but more money. Have fun with it, it's just beer!
Just brew it!

that's what fermcap s is for.  HA   seriously though I started using that stuff in starters and my boil about 4 or 5 batches ago I don't know what's in it but the stuff is amazing at stopping boil overs.  I haven't seen any neg effects on the finished product either.
