Leatherback Brewing Company in St. Croix, USVI is hiring! Founded in 2017 just prior the dual Category 5 hurricanes Irma and Maria and built in the aftermath, Leatherback has gained a foothold in the Caribbean and is expanding. Distribution currently includes the USVI, BVI, Puerto Rico, and South Florida. Our growth has outpaced production and we need to add to the team as soon as possible.
Our goal is to make the best beer in the Caribbean using as many local ingredients as possible while enjoying everything the islands have to offer. If you like working hard to make great beer then snorkeling, diving, fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, or just limin’ on the beach, then this could be the job for you.
We are looking to add a full-time member of the production team. The job will include all aspects of brewery work but primarily making wort and cellar work with rotations on the canning team as well. We need an experienced, detail-oriented candidate who can step right into the role.
Minimum job requirements:Must have at least two years working in a production brewery and a knowledge of what it takes to make great beer from grain to glass,Must have the ability to work efficiently while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment without missing details,Must possess a basic scientific knowledge of beer production and the ability to apply it in a real-world setting,Experience running packaging lines (particularly canning).Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Brewing on our 15bbl 3 vessel systemCellar work (transferring/filtering beer, cleaning tanks, dry-hopping, etc)Running the canning line with our packaging team and performing QA/QC tests.Maintaining a clean work environmentWorking as a team member and helping around the brewery as needed.This position will require a flexible schedule with some night and weekend work. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
