Head brewer position available at Blue Note Brewing in Woodland California:
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:Oversee and develop recipes from grain to glass.Plan and manage the brewing, cellar, and packaging production schedule to efficiently meet demands.Source all raw materials and maintain strong partnerships with raw material vendors.Coordinate with Sales team to ensure inventory levels satisfy the production plan.Lead the R&D program.Strive for continuous improvements in beer quality, consistency, and cost.Perform brewhouse, cellar, CIP, QC, and packaging duties.Yeast and fermentation management.Maintain and create SOPs as needed to ensure that all brewing, cellar, CIP, QC, and packaging processes are completed in a consistent, safe, and efficient manner.Ensure that the brewery equipment and production area is kept clean, organized, and in good working order to meet quality, sanitation, and safety standards.Troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.Oversee brewery safety protocols and compliance measures including wastewater.Communicate with Sales, Marketing, and Tasting Room team members regarding beer style details and tasting notes.
Pay and Benefits:
$40,000-$55,000 a year based on experience
Shift beer
Medical after 90 days w/ 50% covered by the company (four different plans)
Two weeks PTO per year
5 paid holidays per year
Moving allowance (up to $2,000 with receipts) with a two year contract
