Fanoe Bryghus is seeking an experienced and hardworking Production Brewer to join our award-winning brewery team.
At Fanoe Bryghus a brewer’s responsibilities encompass all aspects of production. Therefore we are looking for a dynamic individual capable of wearing many hats. Above all we are looking for a candidate that is a good fit for our friendly, fun, creative, and hardworking culture.
The ideal applicant will have a formal education in brewing or distilling studies, or a minimum of three years experience in a beverage production facility.
Preference will be given to applicants with previous brewery related laboratory or distilling experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.Raw material organisation, inventory management and quality assessment.Produce wort to recipe specification, while maintaining orderly record keeping, and following/improving solid manufacturing techniques.Operation of Alfa Laval Brew80 centrifuge.Ability to perform a variety of brewing calculations.Ability to follow brewery SOPs.Complete CIP of brewery tanks and equipment.Participation of all aspects of packaging: cleaning/filling of kegs, filling of serving vessels, filling of bottles and cans.Have or be able to obtain fork truck certification.Assist in the filling/emptying/blending of beer into/out of barrels.Perform necessary cellar work; sensory evaluations, daily gravity readings, tank dry hopping, CO2/DO checks, transfers, filling of kegs, etc.Perform sanitary yeast management, cell counts & viability checks, harvesting, pitching, fermentation tracking and analysis.Maintain a continually clean working environment by means of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, washing, trash removal, scrubbing again, etc.Work safely and to help establish and maintain a safe work environment by following and improving acceptable industry standards.Work with and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance manager and/or Brewmaster.Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule that includes attending brewery meetings, regular rotating weekend brewery checks, occasional festivals, beer tastings, and other promotional events in a friendly and professional manner.Possess an understanding in brewery related equipment and utility operations including but not limited too; water filtration and treatment, boiler maintenance, malt receiving and handling. Along with the ability to research and present subject matter on beer-related topics.Maintain brewing, cellaring, clarification and other related documentation in an organised and complete manner.Other duties as assigned.
About Fanoe Bryghus: Fanoe Bryghus is a family-owned brewery located in the Wadden Sea on the island of Fanoe, off the west coast of southern Denmark. Just a 12-minute ferry ride from the mainland and city of Esbjerg, a 45 minutes drive from Billund International Airport (and LEGOLAND!) and a 3 hours from the major cities of Copenhagen or Hamburg. Fanoe is a seasonal favourite for families that enjoy our long sunny summers, spacious windswept beaches or our cozy, relaxed winters.
As a brewery we produce a wide range of beer styles with a special focus on barrel-aged strong beers and in 2021 we were awarded Denmark’s “Brewery of the Year” by popular vote from both Danish Beer Enthusiasts and the Danish Beer Bloggers association. We brew on a 10hl Kasper Schulz system, spin our beer through an Alfa Laval Brew80, and bottle it on Cimec filler (with canning coming in 2023). We have a tank farm that consists of 14 x 20HL tanks and 5 x 10HL tanks and well over 100 barrels of various kinds currently in our cellaring program.
