Has anyone done an all feints run using the feints from a VM or other high reflux still?  I have about three and a half gallons of feints from various whiskeys made with VM spirit runs ..... the heads are pretty compressed, so I don't know if I will get enough good product to justify the use of the propane.
Does anybody think it's worthwhile?  If there's no experience here, I'll run it and report the results.Everyone has to believe in something. Me?  I believe I'll have another drink......

Yes, I've done this several times ... I recommend distilling with reflux, you could still get the flavor despite that.

Seriously no .
Not worth the bother . If you are running your VM properly the first time , then there is really nothing worth scavenging on a second run .My recommended goto . /pic/kthojj5cons ... ory/theory
Some of it is outdated but most of the basics are correct .

Agree 100% with Yummy ....if the a reflux still has been run right the first time  then anything that was in the boiler has had the guts wrung out of it, not worth the bother running again.

I run a 4-plate reflux still and squeeze the crap out of my heads and tails. I just ran a feint run, 2.5 gallons, and got 2.5 quarts of very clean alcohol at 91%. I used 2 TBS of sodium carbonate in the 20 L wash (47% ABV) jacking the pH to 11!. I will definitely continue to run my feints this way.

A 4 plate column and a proper VM reflux are two very different tools for performing two very different jobs.

I agree with Yummy and SBB.  You won’t get much usable product, it’s not worth the time/energy to rerun something that has already been separated well.
Save those feints for future cleaning runs, general cleaning of stuff or lighter fluid.   OtisOtis’ Pot and Thumper, Dimroth Condenser:  Pot-n-Thumper/Dimroth

Yes sir ,the heads are worth keeping . I stop collecting as soon as I detect tails , so all the VM reflux tails go down the drain with the rest of the stillageMy recommended goto . /pic/kthojj5cons ... ory/theory
