So, this particular bottle was racked a few years ago. Within the last month or so this grew in the bottom. The smell hasn't changed but I haven't tasted it since seeing the growth. Please help me identify it.

Coagulated yeast perhaps?
How are other bottles of a similar age?
It looks like that bottle is half full too.

I've drank a bit from it since it was racked. I don't have any other bottles for comparison, very small operation right now.

Nothing could have gotten in there since, it was well capped, right?
Was it very cloudy when you racked it into the bottle? That could explain it, everything suspended settles out, with time, when left undisturbed.
If you used raw, unfiltered honey, there can be a lot of settlement.

It's settled out except for that mass, which seems to stay together through light swirling.

Although it stays together, I see some cloudiness (looks like "smoke") appear in the second picture. I guess that's from agitating the bottle? It looks like there's a thin layer of powdery sediment lying on the bottom too.
Have you tasted the mead yet?
What you could do is carefully transfer (rack) the mead to another bottle, leaving the mass and any other sediment on the bottom behind. Then investigate what that "mass" is...
