Hi y'all from a new distiller in Switzerland,
Thanks to the posts of all the magnificent people on this forum I am posting this while sipping my first homemade Odins Easy Gin (no diy tonic yet) - base spirit was a kale wash, all distilled with my new homemade still. I am so happy how this turned out!
Do not misunderstand though: not everything worked perfectly, but in the end it all turned out very, very good (and tasty).
BTW.: in my spare time I like to cook and do quite a few experiments in the kitchen, thus my main interest is not so much spirits but taste, flavor and also fermentation which is very new to me.
Cheers y'all (yes, there is a slight US influence) and I am looking forward to meeting you here.

welcome in. hope you enjoy the forum.
visited switzerland a couple years ago. beautiful place, love to make another there!I finally quit drinking for good.
now i drink for evil.
Thanks for the warm welcome - if you make it over here, be sure to drop by for a drink!
Also, Absythe comes from here, which is on my list to try and make. Seems to be pretty advanced when it comes to the herbs though.
Welcome Stillby. If you like experimenting with flavors you hit the right hobby. Have fun with it. Have visited CH 3 different times. Spent some time in St Gallen/Rorschach area and rode the Furca Pass into Italy. Beautiful country.
Cheers
Hi NorthWoodsAb - thanks for the encouragement. I already noticed that I am on the right track when I found that my simple sugar wash neutral tastes better than the stuff that I can buy in my small-town supermarket here. Also: 3 times CH visitor, wow. And riding the mountain passes is one of the best things you can do.
