The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company is a craft brewery and brewpub located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Situated in the town of Canmore, the Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has been in operation since 1996. Our brewing operations include a 20,000 square foot landmark brewery, a pub, restaurant, taproom, and event space.
We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable brewer who is willing to learn and contribute to our operating processes. The right candidate will have a strong attention to detail, positive attitude and have the ability to follow concise direction and work independently.
Summary of Position:
Responsible for the daily tasks associated with brewing, transferring, cleaning and all related duties to brewing quality beer.
Duties & Responsibilities:Competent operation of all brewing equipment including; grain handling, 35HL Brewhouse, fermenters, bright tanks, keg machinery, and packaging equipment.Yeast and dissolved oxygen management.Assist with the daily recording of density readings of fermenting batches accurately and consistently.Recipe development and process reviews.Must be able to multitask and lift loads up to 25kg repeatedly.The ability to work with others and work alone, shift work is an expectation.This position will work most weekends around the needs of beer production.Packaging and bottling of beer and soda products as required.Work in a safe manner and ensure all health and sanitation standards are followed at all times.Ensure all quality standards are followed and company standard operating procedures are adhered to in a consistent manner.Must be able to work in confined spaces, hot and cold environments withLong days during peak business volumes.Conduct guided tours of the brewery as required and act as an ambassador for the brand.The ability to ask questions and seek guidance when required.Ready and willing to work in a service role which may include direct contact with the public and or vendor representatives.Follow all required Health, Safety, Prevention & Sanitation procedures at all times.Provide support and training to colleagues through our BeerSchool Program.Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures.Develop and maintain close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments.Consider the environmental impact of all decisions.Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:Experience in a production brewery or brew pubA formal education in brewing from a recognized educational instituteA valid driver's license is requiredMust be eligible to legally work in Canada
