I've never heard of it before but I see that it comes from a region rich with small, family farms.  I'd trust it.
... but from where are you buying it ?  It may have started out fresh but that doesn't mean that it's been properly stored by the seller.________________

I bought it from a feed store. The mash I made is now fermenting away like a mo fo. I'm just looking for someone else who's used it before and has some input on flavor and safety.
Maybe a better question would be,Is there any cracked corn I should stay away from?

Anything from Tractor Supply.
If you're buying from a feed store why not buy whole/shelled (verbiage often dependent on region) and mill your own ?________________

I don't know much about animal food/feed stores. I'm originally from a suburban/urban upbringing. Feed stores and such are something I'm not particularly familiar with.
I've brewed beer before and just started dabbling in the spirit world. I just want to make sure i'm not using ingredients that's not safe for human consumption.

At least in my state it does not have any additives on the label. It's simply Dent corn. I've used both with good results and when properly milled will yield the same SG as Bob's Red Mill corn meal.
I haven't found it to have any more foreign matter than the grains I buy from the LHBS.Use all your senses, and its not that hard. You just have to pay attention.
Procrastinate, you'll make better whiskey.

I had poor quality sacks of cracked corn, rolled barley, and rolled oats from them ... dirty, with *lots* of cob and stalk.  Granted, that was years ago but my experience mirrored that of the reviews on TSC's website so it wasn't an isolated incident.  But again, that was 2014-2015.  Your experience makes it appear they heard their customer's complaints and improved their quality.
Happily for me, the benefit derived from those bad purchases was the discovery of local, family-owned feed stores selling locally grown grain.  And that less than a 30 min drive outside a major city.________________
