Figured it's time to say hello and a thank you. Been reading this forum for a bit and it's really helped.
Just into the tails of our first ever run of corn shine. Once we worked the kinks out, it's running low and slow. And no burn at all, very tasty, very smooth. Had to stop the run twice due to worm issues, but even with a 2.5 gallon stainless pot on the stove, still managed 2 26'ers - probably 140 proof.
I'm happy. Have another 2.5 gallons to distill tomorrow. And have a wheat mash and multigrain rum I guess one can call it.
I'd post a pic of the setup, but it's nothing pretty. No thumper yet, that's coming. Just a SS cooking Pot, copper tube and a plastic bucket.
Don't worry about ugly. What u think is ugly may be porn worthy in someone else's eyes. Your setup is exactly how I started. Then the bug bit me and I dove down the rabbit hole.
Welcome
the more you keep to yourself the more "free" you will be and the more you will git away with.

Thanks.
Silly question though. I've never drank straight white corn liquor - lots of bourbon though.
It doesn't taste like corn but still delicious. Used about 2 pounds for a 5 gallon mash.
Welcome Aboard, 5 gal. wash should use 10 - 12.5 lbs, Just a suggestion.... Learn more about the process, Mashing, Fermenting.... Then the Flavor and proof will improve
