New to the whole concept of home distilling

Hello, I am Rick DeAvila and have just started this new hobby.  Watched moonshiners and thought this concept was something I wanted to try so I can make me a whisky that I can get the perfect flavor for me and a few of my friends.  I have purchased a home brew kit and looking to create a foundational mash with Carmel flavor.  I look forward to this journey and using this forum and all your experience and trials and errors.  Thank you all in advance!
